Like now that I am awake I need to reiterate how huge this is. It was presumed harvested to extinction by the Romans. It was a favorite flavoring and according to historians one of the best contraceptives ever known. True or not it would be fantastic to study that but it being extinct made that impossible.

@ California mutuals: If it hasn’t already been said: Try not to walk in flood water. If a power line is down its a perfect recipie for getting electrocuted. Its likely also dirty and full of sewage. Sometimes theres no choice, so if you DO end up walking in flood water, beware: if you see a patch or raft of brown like this, it’s fire ants. They all climb on each other to form a raft and it’s TERRIFYING (and cool to watch. ) Yes those are ALL fire ants.

Some encouraging news.
Really glad they did this research - especially because YouGov is a credible, well-regarded, and fairly accurate pollster. They’re one of the most prominent polling organizations in the UK. So it’s not like just anyone is giving these numbers - you can have a fair amount of confidence in them.
Given British media and assholes online, I definitely would not have called that cis lesbians and cis bisexuals are tied for most supportive of trans people. Very, very nice to hear.
Reblogged this already, but coming back to it because I want to say: cis people want trans people in queer spaces. I’ve met a couple of trans women who feel nervous about going to queer events because they are afraid they aren’t wanted, or they don’t belong, or they will be making cis lesbians uncomfortable. This is not true. Do not let the small minority of online brainrot get to you.
In my experience, cis lesbians do not merely begrudgingly tolerate trans women, they want trans women (and people all across the trans spectrum) there. Cis lesbians want to hear your voice and your perspective on womanhood. You bring so much to the table on these conversations, and enrich the space for everyone involved. Sometimes queer women have a very complicated or even traumatic relationship with femininity, and seeing someone who earnestly enjoys femininity, who chooses it, can be so healing. You are wanted at the luncheons and the book clubs and the bar crawls. The enbies that want to talk about how they DIY’d their gender, the trans men that will talk of the masculine urge to sweep a lady off her feet, and the trans women who embrace womanhood are all wonderful, valuable facets of the queer community. Please never forget that you are part of it.
